Kamehamehahahaha, I love Dragon Ball Z, I really do. So many hours spent watching the seemingly never ending sagas whilst everyone around me couldn't fathom out what the attraction was. As a fan, I've played every incarnation of the video game variety that's been on offer in the UK and I literally jumped at the chance of unleashing my Ki on the next generation. Loved the demo but will the full game offer me the full DBZ experience or am I best sinking some Kirin?
So here it is, Dragon Ball Z: Burst limit. The game is basically a one on one fighter ala Tekken, Dead or Alive but with more pizzazz and over the top speacial moves. As always, there's an extensive tutorial system to battle through which covers the basics such as movement, special moves and powering up. It takes a while to complete but it is worthwhile, especially for those of you unfamiliar with the series..otherwise you may feel a bit bemused at the fighting style. Once you've ploughed your way through the tutorial, you're then free to choose one of the various modes within the game.
Of all of them, the Z Chronicle is probably the one that fans will dive on. Battle your way through the Saiyan, Frieza and Cell sagas (sadly, no Buu...boo) and unlock the various characters, stages and outfits. As you do so you're also rewarded with snippets of the saga you're currently battling through. Sadly, it they're so short lived and fail to capture the majesty of such an iconic anime series. What you do see is beautifully rendered in all its cel shaded goodness, but Bandai we want more! You then have the versus option, which is pretty self explanatory. Battle it out with buddies locally or via LIVE and become the World Tournament no 1! Finally there's Trial which encapsulates Survival mode (80 defeats, first attempt! I am Goku..ahem) which in turn will unlock Time Attack and Battle Point Mode.
