O2 store will have no more than "a few dozen"
Posted on July 11th, 2008 at 1:45pm by Lord_LethrisIt's a form of publicity that worked well for Nintendo with the launch of the Wii, and of course Apple's first-generation iPhone release. A year later, Apple still hasn't learnt from its mistakes, with O2 sadly stating on their website that each store will have just a dozen handsets in stock for tomorrow's launch.
As mentioned a couple of weeks back, customers are limited to one phone each, with business customers able to purchase two. O2 claims "on average, we will only have a few dozen iPhone 3Gs per store"
Potential iPhone 3G owners are reminded to bring with them two forms of identification, an actual working credit or debit card (don't attempt to use the one that expired in March 2006, that you still carry around on you for old time's sake), plus proof of address. Ensure you set aside at least 20 minutes for the transaction to go through - so no turning up outside an 02 store at 8:45am, 15 minutes before you start work.
You'll need to set aside some time to pick up your Friday mornin' bacon sandwich, too
